Tape the widest part of his chest, just behind the front legs, flat and snug, and find that number in the size table. Nothing gets added to it. Two fingers are what you check once the harness is on him. If his number falls in the gap between two sizes, take the larger; if two sizes both cover it, take the one where it sits farther from the edge of its range, and the larger if it sits exactly on the line.
Two flat fingers should slide under every strap, and the chest strap belongs behind his front legs. If no finger fits, go up a size. Tape a growing puppy again every two weeks.
