Made for French Bulldogs

The suede vest in XL. A 25 lb Frenchie weighs 11.3 kg, and the XL is sized for 10 to 14 kg (22 to 31 lb), with a chest that adjusts from 54 to 62 cm (21.3 to 24.4 in). The Paw Mesh Vest is too small for him: its XL is sized for up to 7.5 kg.
The size whose range holds his chest tape. Measure just behind the front legs. Suede: M 43–51, L 50–56, XL 54–62 cm. Paw Mesh: compare the tape with L, cut for about 46 cm, or XL, about 57 cm. If his number falls in the gap between two sizes, take the larger; if two sizes both cover it, take the one where it sits farther from the edge of its range, and the larger if it sits exactly on the line.
Yes, if he hates anything over his head. The suede vest goes on through his front legs: one paw in each loop, one buckle closed on his back. The Paw Mesh Vest is not a step-in. Its neck opening is closed, 34 or 38 cm, and his head goes through it.
Open the buckle and lay the suede vest flat, chest panel up. He puts one front paw in each loop. Draw the straps over his back and click the buckle shut. Then take up each of the four sliders until two flat fingers slide under the strap.
Only a leash point on the chest changes what a lunge does: the leash swings his front end toward you. Our vests clip on his back, so a lunge runs straight ahead. For a Frenchie who lunges, take the Front-Clip harness. None of them trains him.
Snug, not tight: two flat fingers should slide under every strap. Check with the vest on and him standing, before the first walk, and again after the first, third and tenth walk. Tighter than that and it rubs; looser and he leans out of it.
They can, when a strap lies in the hollow behind the front leg or fits too tight. Lift his front leg forward: the edge should lie against his ribs, with two fingers of room. If the skin looks red or sore after a walk, take it off and ask your vet.
For a big puppy, the suede M (sized for 3.5 to 6.5 kg, chest 43 to 51 cm) or the Paw Mesh L (4 to 6 kg, closed 34 cm neck opening). Under that, take the Puppy Harness, which starts at a 32 cm chest. Tape him first.
